Groundwater resilience in arid environments

At the University of Doha for Science and Technology, my work examines groundwater salinity and environmental stress in arid conditions. It combines hydrogeology, water quality assessment, climate information and spatial analysis to help interpret risks to groundwater resources.

The broader research programme explores monitoring and data-driven approaches for groundwater resilience and climate adaptation.

Applied environmental intelligence

As Director and Geo-Water Data Scientist at AquiferIQ, I provided consulting services involving brownfield mineral exploration, wastewater treatment and environmental monitoring. The work paired field and project evidence with statistical analysis and predictive modelling.

My focus was on making environmental and water information useful for technical teams, reporting and treatment decisions.

Resource recovery from saline wastewater

At UNISA and ROC Water Technologies, I worked on freeze crystallisation for high-salinity industrial wastewater. This included process evaluation, analysis of operational data and research into the recovery of water and salts from difficult waste streams.

The work connects treatment performance with resource efficiency and practical implementation.

Mine water prediction and monitoring

My doctoral research developed intelligent tools for mine water management, including machine learning models for forecasting water quality and digital methods to support monitoring. The aim was to help teams anticipate changes and plan treatment and operational responses.

The work spanned water data analysis, predictive modelling and the design of practical decision-support interfaces.
